Praise Breaks Don’t Fix Private Breakdowns
I danced hard on Sunday… and cried even harder that night. It’s a weird place to be in… full of praise but lowkey falling apart. Loud worship… silent suffering. We know how to shout, how to spin, how to lay out on the altar. But what happens when the spirit wears off and Monday morning is still a reality? Ok, Let’s be real… a praise break is powerful. True and I’m not taking from that… But it ain’t a substitute for a breakdown you never got to process. (Tsssk) Again, this isn’t about discrediting the Spirit. I KNOW what God can do in a moment. I’ve felt Him show up in the middle of worship and do what therapy couldn’t come close to touching. But I’ve also known what it’s like to be prayed over by the same people who never even noticed I was dying inside. Slowly crashing out and starving spiritually. SMH. Some of us are grieving with great vocals… …worshipping while wounded… …preaching while privately panicking. And guess what? nobody knows. Why…?Because we’re good at this! We’ve been taught how to be strong in front of people and break in private. But the truth is… that’s not strength… that’s survival. You shouldn’t have to choose between your worship and your well-being. You shouldn’t have to shout over your symptoms just to feel accepted. 😮💨 We Gotta Normalize Both. You can love Jesus… and still need help. You can speak in tongues… and see a therapist. You can believe in deliverance… and give yourself time to heal. It’s not either-or… it’s both! Listen, we gotta stop acting like the only answer is “press through.” Because sometimes… pressing through becomes pretending through… (Somebody can dance right there lol) And there’s no freedom in that. It just makes your healing look like a performance. Let’s Get Real Again You don’t have to look whole to be loved. You don’t have to be strong to be seen. And you definitely don’t have to keep faking power just to stay relevant. If you need to sit in the pew quietly instead of dancing this time… you’re not less anointed. If all you can offer is a whisper of “God help me” instead of a full praise break… it still counts. God sees you. Fully. And He doesn’t just want your praise… He wants your heart first. ⸻ Take care of your spirit… but don’t ignore your soul. Because praise breaks are beautiful… But your breakdowns deserve healing too.
